What Makes a Hero Hot? Blog Hop

It's a Blog Hop!

What makes a hero hot?

To me it isn't just hunky muscles but he should have a good wit.  I tend to drool over actors that make me laugh not that are super studs.  Vince Vaughn for instance.  I adore him.

It's a bonus if the man is good looking too.  Luckily I got both in my husband.  A man has to keep me laughing even when I feel like screaming!!!  He also has to get my snark.  Even when it's not sunshine & roses.  Which, I admit, my sense of humor often is not.

Excerpt of Josh and Rayna expressing their dry humor in Finding Trouble:

“Hmm… First strange delivery you’ve gotten, I take it, by your reaction,” Joshua mused. “Well, the first thing we have to do is figure out what it is. If your female sensibilities can’t take it, or if you plan to burst my eardrums with another screaming episode, don’t watch.”

Figuring he’d given her enough warning, he reached down into the box and tried to find a furry spot not matted with blood. As he lifted the thing out of the box a bit, he realized how heavy it was. How did this petite woman even get the box into her apartment?

Lifting from one end he was able to see the thing’s face. Well, what was left of a possible face? It had the appearance of road kill that had laid dead in the road awhile before someone rescued the corpse. As he was about to drop it in absolute disgust, he noticed a white envelope tucked into the side of the box. His first gut instinct was not to touch the note, if they were hoping to gain any evidence at all as to who had sent this dead animal, it would be best to preserve everything as best as possible. However, to determine the seriousness of the situation he wanted to see the note. Glancing over, he saw the knife lying beside the box, probably where it had been dropped as the frantic siren of her mouth went off.

Using the knife, he carefully pulled the envelope out and took it over to the counter island that separated the kitchen from the living room.

“What’s that?” she asked as she turned and stared at the envelope warily.

“I’d imagine it’s a note from the boyfriend who sent you this nice gift.”

“Listen here Mr. Sarcastic, I didn’t invite you in my apartment and you can uninvite yourself anytime.” She glared at him. “And don’t let the door hit you on the ass as you walk out.”

His sense of curiosity over the turn of events wouldn’t have gotten Josh out of that apartment for most of the currency in the world. “Do you have a sandwich bag?”

“Like that giant mess is going to fit in a sandwich bag!” Her face curled in disgust at the thought.

“I’m going to use the sandwich bag to keep from getting fingerprints all over potential evidence; furthermore, we will seal the letter in one, smart ass.”
